Tanjong Katong Girls’ School, (TKGS) is a highly reputable school in Singapore established way on 12th October, 1953. It was the first English school set up by the government with the majority of the 250 students coming from Chinese schools. In 1960, it became a double-session school with to cater for the increased number of 1,200 students. The same year there was change of guard with the founder Mrs Maude Scott handing over administrative leadership to Miss See-Tin See. At the moment, the school has an average of 1400 students enrolled in different classes.
Amber 45 is one of the major development project situated at the heart of marine parade. It is a project of UOL group. The location of Amber 45 condo is in between two beautiful and prominent condominiums. Many academic institutes, shopping centers and play grounds are located near amber 45.

A vigorous expansion program was rolled out in January 1966 beginning with the building of a 4-story block for Tanjong Katong Girl School at 45 Amber Road. However, pre-university classes started later in the year in 1967. Presently, it is one of the few that offers MEP (Music Elective Programs) in the entire country. The TKGS curriculum cuts across board and includes all pure sciences, aesthetics, and humanities. Importantly, it is one of the few schools in the entire country that offers Economics as an examinable subject – O’ Level.

For example, the 8th president Halimah Yacob, Hoe Geok Choo member of parliament 2001-2011,the first nominated female- MP Dr Kanwaljit Soin, Koh Chai Hong military pilot, and Felicia Chin, amongst others that have stood for the betterment of the society.
